Lafayette Square Mall was recently acquired by Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation. The new owner intends to reinvigorate the 113-acre property and believes the timing is right as the 38th Street and Lafayette Road corridors experience a resurgence of consumer activity and demand for quality retail offerings.
The recent opening of the new Wal-Mart Supercenter just north of Lafayette Square at Georgetown Road has already significantly increased consumer traffic in the immediate area.
The 1.2 million square foot center is anchored by Macy’s, Sears, Burlington Coat Factory and Steve & Barry’s. Other brands include Finish Line, Victoria’s Secret, Kay Jewelers, Game Stop, Foot Locker, Ashley Stewart, Walden Books, The Children’s Place and Kids Foot Locker.
