Camby, Indiana - March 21, 2007 - Ryan E. Zickler of Zickler Associates, LLC reports Wal-Mart has purchased over 35 acres for a proposed Wal-Mart Super Center at Heartland Crossing, located on Indiana Highway 67 north of Mooresville on Indianapolis’ southwest side.
The retail giant will join Meijer and Menards in anchoring the continued development of the 1,500-acre mixed use community which incorporates portions of Marion, Hendricks and Morgan counties.
According to Jason Wetzel, spokesperson for Wal-Mart in Indiana, the new Super Center should be open for business by this time next year. "We are pleased to be moving ahead with the construction of our Super Center in Camby and we look forward to being part of this growing, vibrant community."
Heartland Crossing developer, Tim Shrout of Cedar Run Limited Inc., reports more than 2,150 housing units are now complete in the project, representing approximately 89% of the total planned residential buildout.
According to Shrout, “Zickler’s efforts since 1998 have resulted in bringing more than 654,000 square feet of retailers to Heartland Crossing, including the soon to be built Wal-Mart, and we still have forty-six acres of retail and commercial land and building sites available in our final phase. Needless to say, project performance to date has exceeded our expectations.”
Ryan Zickler added “We are thriving on all fronts, particularly due in part to no large competing retail assembly of users within a fifteen minute drive from our project. With limited viable land development opportunities, we intend to capitalize on the market demand and complete the retail component of Heartland Crossing in 2007.”
