Zickler Associates was retained by Menard Home Improvement to consult and facilitate the due diligence associated with the January 2003 acquisition of approximately fifty acres owned by Meijer, Inc., in the village of Forsyth, Illinois.

The transaction was made complicated because the retail zoning of the property which was originally intended for use by Meijer had a sunset provision if construction did not commence within a short time frame following rezoning. Therefore, Menard was required to resubmit a petition to rezone the property from residential to commercial.

The rezoning approval and recent consummation of the land purchase paves the way for construction of a full service Menards home improvement center containing approximately 94,000 square feet of inside sales floor area.
